Teachers Federation ‘wasn’t consulted’ on year 12 back to school plans

Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says NSW Teachers Federation President Angelo Gavrielatos was not made aware of the back-to-school plans for year 12 students until it was announced at the New South Wales COVID-19 press conference.

“The Teachers Federation, I’ve spoken to them, Angelo Gavrielatos, I assume they would have been consulted on this, they haven’t,” Mr Clennell told Sky News Australia.

“They haven’t been consulted on this, they didn’t know a thing about it until the press conference and they just learnt about it.

“They’re saying there’ll be hundreds of people on these Western Sydney campuses when this occurs because some of the schools are quite large, have large year 12 populations for the exams to occur.

“There’s a lot of teachers so a bit of work for the government to do there.”
